With that in mind, look at the JPG attached in ZIP format, and see if your Advanced Tab settings match those I used for years on Verizon, for my Office Outlook to work properly. Perhaps they've updated it since then and I'm off base, but this attachment and my suggestion come under the heading of "It might not help, but it couldn't hurt!" At the time - and this was a few years ago - they seemed to not have tried it on their own computers. I've spent a long time working in IT supporting End Users, and I was simply blown away by how completely off the Verizon auto-configure routine was. It may be something as simple as these settings. If nothing else, you might try to be sure that your settings on the Outlook Account Advanced Tab matches these settings (See attached JPG, in a ZIP). However, I recognize that their online fix is not a fix it did not configure my Office 2010 version of Outlook correctly. I had Verizon FiOS for many years, until I moved to a location where they don't provide FiOS and I miss it very much. Going to Live or should bypass all locally based settings and allow you the ability to get your email, both send and receive. But following Microsoft's instructions will serve you better than following Verizon's and if you're using the browser-based email, as in Live or Outlook, then Verizon's settings should not come into play. There was no Office 2011 package for installation on PCs.

Is this a standalone Outlook - as in, part of an Office install - or is it the web-based Outlook? You mention Live Mail as well as Outlook 2011, so I am curious as to whether you're using the Browser-based version or not.
